Travelling for your procedure?

Dr. Myny’s registration across four countries means continuity of care whether you consult from Brussels, London, Paris or abroad.

Introduction

Dr. Myny is registered as a plastic surgeon in Belgium, the Netherlands, the United Kingdom and France, and a significant part of the practice — particularly gender-affirming top surgery — is built around patients travelling from abroad. This page outlines how remote consultation, travel planning and aftercare typically work.

01

How remote consultation works

Most international patients begin with a video consultation rather than travelling for a first assessment. You’ll be asked to send clear photographs in advance, following simple guidelines sent by email, and the call itself covers medical history, examination by video, and an honest discussion of what’s realistically achievable — the same conversation as an in-person consultation, adapted to distance.

02

Planning your trip

Once a surgical plan is agreed, we recommend arriving a few days before surgery for pre-operative tests and a final in-person consultation, and staying a further stretch afterward before flying home, depending on the procedure. We can point you toward accommodation near the clinic in Bruges, though travel and lodging are arranged independently by the patient.

03

Language support

Consultations are available in English, so most international patients can be seen without needing an interpreter.

04

Payment & documentation

Costs are confirmed in writing once the surgical plan is finalised, along with what’s required in advance — proof of identity, relevant medical history from your own doctor, and, where applicable, a letter of medical clearance. Elective aesthetic procedures are not typically covered by insurance, so payment is arranged directly with the clinic.

05

Aftercare once you're home

Follow-up after you’ve returned home is done by video call at scheduled intervals, with clear guidance on what’s normal during healing and what would warrant contacting the clinic directly. If a concern arises outside a scheduled follow-up, you can reach the clinic directly rather than waiting for the next appointment.

LOCATION

Getting here

Most international patients fly into Brussels Airport, which has a direct train to Bruges roughly every 30 minutes — the journey takes about 1 hour 25 minutes, with no need to change trains. The clinic is a short taxi ride from Bruges train station.

This cross-border registration allows Dr. Myny to consult and coordinate care for patients across all four countries — a particular advantage for international transgender patients seeking continuity between consultation and follow-up.
